I love the sea. I love sea breeze. If sea breeze can be packaged, I will be first in the queue to buy them. I find being near the sea, sea breeze and gentle sunshine very healing.
Yesterday, DH decided spontaneously that we should go to the seaside. An hour and a half later, we were at a restaurant he had booked for a lunch. We spent nearly three hours walking by the seaside, including walking uphill where the car was parked.
The good news is that the sea breeze has lifted my spirit and forgive the dramatics, provided some healing, so much so that last night was the first time in a very long time, I had a good night sleep.
The bad news is that even though I had a Cambridge shake in the morning, had a nice lunch before setting on the long walk along the beach, had a Cambridge peanut bar immediately after the walk, plus Cambridge porridge for dinner, my body reacted negatively to so much walking. This morning, I had gained 0.7 kg (1.54 pounds). WTF.
But you know what, I won’t sweat the weight gain. It could be water retention, hormonal, reaction to too much exercise on a low calorie diet, blah blah blah. I cannot stop living life or doing things I love like the rare long walk by the sea just because I need the scales to go down.
I am proud that yesterday, I stuck to drinking my water. I am proud that I was very careful getting the restaurant to amend the menu to suit my diet. I had a starter of squid and salad instead of squid and sautéed potatoes on the menu. I had a main of sea bass, salad and spinach instead of the sea bass, salad and rice on the menu.
I will do my bits by sticking to the diet and not sweat whatever my body does…too much.
